A monthly food collection of staples for the hungry of the city under the
sponsorship of the Toledo Council of Churches.

St. Louis Helping Hands
A volunteer team from the parish prepares and serves a noon meal at the
St. Louis soup kitchen on a monthly basis.

Blood Bank
A blood collection is scheduled twice a year, staffed and directed by
parishioners, to provide blood for Lucas County Blood Program under the
direction of the American Red Cross.

Funeral Luncheon Committee
A committee of volunteers who minister to bereaved families by setting up
and serving funeral luncheons in the Parish Center following parish
funerals.

Social Justice
Committee
Committed to obeying our Lord's command to bring justice to the
oppressed, this group meets at important intervals throughout the year to
plan and effect social change in the immediate and city community.

Liturgy
Eucharistic Ministers
The Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest by distributing the Holy
Eucharist during the liturgy to the assembly.

Ministers to the Sick
These ministers visit and take Communion to the sick and or shut-ins on a
regular basis. Visits are made to private homes, nursing homes and
hospitals.

Lectors
Parishioners involved in the ministry of proclaiming the Word of God at
parish liturgies. Individuals are scheduled on a regular weekend basis.

Usher/Greeters
These ministers of hospitality welcome and seat parishioners and visitors
arriving for Mass. They also assist the physically handicapped and take up
the people’s offering.

Altar Servers
Servers (4th grade –8th grade) represent the people of God at the altar
by leading processions, preparing the altar for liturgy, and providing for
the good order of the celebration. Training is provided. Parental support is
much needed when a young person decides to become an Altar Server.

Liturgical Environment
Concerned with planning and coordinating seasonal church environment.

Altar Care
This group of volunteers gathers weekly to provide the necessary cleaning
of the church, sanctuary, altar cloths, and furnishings.

Prayer Network
Members of this prayer group pray for the intentions requested by
parishioners. The group also meets two or three times during the year for
communal prayer services or devotions.

Finance
St. Pius X School Endowment Fund
This purpose is used to solicit and invest gifts for the charitable
benefit of St. Pius X School. For further information pick up a brochure by

An advisory committee that offers financial and business expertise to the
Pastor.

Building and Grounds Committee
Concerned with the management, maintenance, and beautification of parish
properties and buildings.
